The Desert Rose Playgroup
Desert Rose Playgroup is a Steiner-inspired playgroup.
We offer three playgroup sessions during the week for parents and children from birth to 3. Playgroup is held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9.00am to 11.00am.
Each playgroup session is limited to 10 families.
The aim of the Desert Rose Playgroup is to develop a strong supportive parent community and provide a place for children to play in a relaxed home-like environment. The space contains objects and materials that are familiar and comforting to young children, which creates an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness in the room. Children are free to engage in a variety of activities using simple, natural and handmade play materials that inspire imaginative play and strengthen social relationships with each other and our environment.
Children are accompanied by parents and enjoy a morning rhythm that includes craft activities, making bread together to share for morning tea and singing songs at circle time. There are also opportunities for both indoor and outdoor free play.
A short story accompanied by simple handmade props that reflect the season or time of year is told at the end of the session.
The cost of playgroup is paid by the term, with the total terms fees due at the beginning of each term. Please contact the school for more information on current fees.
